Marrakech can be bit daunting if you've never been; Riad Origines was a very good place to base ourselves. The staff (especially Yussef (may have spelt that wrong)) were very helpful, gave good tips on where to go and how to stay safe. They spoke English, French, Arabic and the Berber language well. Always happy to help. Particularly liked Yussef explaining to us to call the Berbers the Amazigh people (Berber being a rather unpleasant colonial name derived from the word barbarian).Hotel was visually very attractive (sort of highly modern Islamic design with open-roofed inner courtyard + pool, pillars, curtains, drapes etc, all very appealing and clean with mod cons), had a pool, good food, clean, attractive air-conditioned rooms, reasonable prices, wifi everywhere, a great roof terrace with lots of loungers and comfy seats.Geographically well positioned with good access to the old and new parts of the city, not far to walk or taxi to pretty much all tourist destinations. They also offered excellent guides (reasonably priced) to show you round the city if you like; our guide Hussain was knowledgeable, friendly, wise and had great language skills.The reservation/booking arrangements all went flawlessly, no problems/errors/delays checking in or anything like that.Can strongly recommend for families/couples/anyone else.

The riad was beautiful and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed our stay. The only defect is the location. It’s located in medina however not in it’s best part. The zone is not the safest, don’t let locals “help” you find a correct way in the narrow streets. We’ve been robbed once and offered “help” many times. Apparently it’s a common trick.

The staff are fantasticThe place is really really cleanOf course on Marrakesh you get hassled to buy hash or someone wants to show you around and expects to get paid , but that’s just part and parcel . It is on a tiny street but I didn’t really feel threatened in any way. Just a bit hassled now and again.We loved it , it was a little oasis in the middle of the crazy Medina . Food was great rooms were great. The terrace was amazing . Well worth a visit really gorgeous . This is not the four seasons or Mandarin oriental it is a beautiful Riad, worth a visit, all people we spoke to who stayed here loved it. It has just 5 rooms.

We were welcomed well at this riad and we were happy with the lovely modern decor that still follows Moroccon style. The room was comfortable for 3 people and the bathroom perfect. We did not use the internal pool though we sat on the terrace in the evenings and it was great. The neighborhood is fine though you can easily get lost if you don’t pay attention. The staff at the hotel were attentive too.

Adil and Saed were just wonderful. My friend and I went for a weekend getaway, and we had the best time. Everything was spotless, food was delicious and the staff were so helpful! We were given directions and explanations, felt like royalty. We booked our excursions through the Riad, as well as our spa treatments. There is literally nothing I could complain about and would highly recommend this lovely place for your trip. Located close to the Souks and taxis, pretty much everything is in walking distance. THank you Adil and Saed for takign such good care of us! :)

Riad Origines is a lovely hotel, where everything was cleaned and everyone was extremely nice and helpful. To be honest, it might have been one of my best experiences in a hotel. Everything I needed, the staff was very helpful. They were worried about our welfare, always asking where we were going and if we needed directions going there. Adi was incredible, thank you so much for your hospitality. Everyone that wants a true morrocan experience, please stay in this Riad. From the location to the style of architecture and food, these Riad is exactly what morrocan hospitality is about. Thank you very much, will definitely come back!

Being honest, we booked to stay in Medina without much research. New to Morocco or North Africa, we were pretty green. In short, we needed a bit of looking after! The staff at Riad Origines certainly did that. They booked us a great guide to the area on our first morning, an excellent excursion to the Atlas Mountains, they fed us great tagines, and got us out of a scrape when another self-appointed 'guide' walked us to the door and then expected significant payment as a result! The team here are kind and diligent - the Riad itself is clean, relaxing, has great mint tea and a lovely roof terrace where you really feel above the city. We really recommend the establishment.As hinted, we did not always find the area itself easy. Yes it is exciting to be 'authentic' but you do need to know, as we should have, that it's easy to get lost and that any pause to take bearings or check a map will instantly draw offers of 'help', always with the expectation of payment if in any way taken. Outside of this, while hospitality was beyond reproach inside any restaurant, shop etc, there was a lot of being stared at and sized up on the streets. Neither do the taxis go as far as the Riad so the last half km always has to be walked (although motorbikes certainly do nip round the narrow streets and alleys - sometimes at high speed!).Chances are, if you're reading this, you already know a lot of this. If you're up for life in Medina, then Riad Origines will be your best possible hosts.
